Yah, if it's 'extra' then the City has to pay to build it (although the Province is still responsible for maintenance). Calgary also built a couple interchanges at its own expense on NW Stoney a few years back.

Survey crews were out last fall. But this will be nice for a convenience. Coming off of Churchill you have to go to Ray Gibbons to access the Henday. This will also help the truck traffic coming from the industrial parks to get on quicker.

Now the SE portion of the Henday is also clamoring for a 3rd lane asap! With all of the new builds happening around the quarter - for Pete's sake - 66 and 34th streets don't even have on/off ramps. 50th street overpass is already busting. 17th st was just had on/off ramps installed last year. Another piss poor job in AB Trans. planning.

@Out of Towner we should get a toll on the henday, hey? Little user fee.

34 street and 66 street will never get interchanges there is not enough spacing between 50 street.

17th Street had the bridge widened. Also, Ellerslie Road is being widened east of 50 Street. I'm sure 34 Street (south of Henday) isn't far away.

Yup! For those of whom drive the SW Henday every day - next 3 years are gonna be BRUTAL! With 3 road crossings are commanding a 50km zone, back to 100, down to 50, back to 100km, down to 50km/hr.....yikes!

Huh?! The SW upgrade is complete, we're talking about the next "3 crossings over the SW:" the Terwillegar bridge, Terwillegar pedestrian bridge and the Capital line LRT crossing. None of which have anything to do with the SW leg "being a priority" of anything.
