I like this detailing.

Reminds me of Piet Mondrian, colors aside.

Kind of like... the Mondrian. Kind of wish we had more artist inspired buildings.
Once more people start living there the shops will open up and it should have a better urban environment. Hopefully LeBreton development can creep towards the island to make it feel less isolated. Anyone know what's next for the LeBreton area actually?
The first 4 blocks of Flats District (Wellington and Booth) were awarded in January 2024, but we haven't seen anything since. Seems planning the infrastructure and roads is dragging. We then have the Sens parcel, of course. Next one to go on the market is apparently across Adisoke, over old Slater, and will include a high school.
it cant because there are two parks, a war museum, holocaust memorial, afghanistan memorial, victoria island, and a river, in the way.
There is a small block there that will see development. See #6. I do wish they would have placed the monuments on the museum grounds instead.

Jeez I think I might have been wrong, even assuming parcel 6 developed, it’s still pretty isolated from the rest of the area.

Oh interesting, didn't realize the triangle in front of Adisoke is slated for a building.
I hope they change their minds. I'd like to keep that vista from Downtown towards Adisoke and from Albert towards Downtown. A fountain or monument would be better suited.

Still not perfect, but far better than nothing.

I had a couple posts about this spot a while back and I can't seem to find it. I was advocating it to be a plaza and found some documents that are counter to the one posted above. I had a picture of that fountain in Hungary? and its a granite open face book that is a fountain and the water laps back and forth like its a turning page if anyone remembers that. I checked Adisoke pages on both here and SSP. I don't think it was that long ago.

I believe it was the 593 & 601 Laurier Ave. W. forum.

A 30s+ tower would make such a difference and anchor the development on the skyline. I hope it doesn't end up being a tabletop surrounded by midrises.
Yeah well.. we can't have anything dominate the uh.. thing.

At least everything on the Ottawa side so far has been pretty high quality although perhaps lacking on the ground floor courtyard aspect fulfilment so far.
