Folks, our park has it's first trees!

One observation from being there in person: the park feels smaller and more packed, as if they tried to add as many elements as possible. Hence why there is no full basketball court, larger playground, etc. Everything had to be minimized to fit.

The Northern Lights feature is actually quite large and more dominant than the renders and photos make it appear.

Felt a little claustrophobic overall but still a great addition and looking forward to the park’s completion.

New York has plenty of smaller and medium sized parks. This will be a great addition to the city.

It would be wise for the city to buy and build dedicated basketball, football, and soccer fields in the core. Starting with surface lots near existing housing.

Agreed. Feels like it’ll be less green space than anticipated. The walking paths are also all quite wide (not a complaint). Nevertheless, a million kilometres better than what was there before.

Leasing vacant land would be cool. Or give a break on property taxes if it’s used by the city for recreation purposes? Some of those 103-104th ave lots would get good uni traction.

North of sync 111 and west of the Wendy’s/tims. Put 2 courts on there and some bleachers and it would pop off.

Yes, the feature takes up a lot of space. I also wonder if it is at the expense of other things people might have appreciated or wanted more. I suppose we will see how it goes.
