I think the only problem with flattening Macleod there is the CPKC line, I doubt the city would allow a level crossing and approaches for a freight underpass would be huge

I guess I'm just dreaming about an underpass/trench. But thankfully, at least for the freight tracks, the next grade crossing to the north is 61 Ave, and the next grade crossing to the south is James McKevitt Rd. There is a decent amount of distance to descend, and ascend to ground level again.
