Not a great pic but lots of noise wall construction going on here:

... Why is there need for a sound wall exactly? This is an industrial area...
I suppose the noise of the construction equipment could startle horses on the training track that's immediately on the other side of the noise wall (more than the trains do now)? But I don't know if the wall being there would make much difference, and I know almost nothing about horses and horse racing.
There's been many horse racing tracks that have also been used for auto racing (Aintree, Sandown AUS, Dover DE, Chicago Motor Speedway at Sportsman's Park, Syracuse, Kawartha Downs/Speedway), but maybe in those cases the horses were more easily and temporarily kept away from the noise? (Edit: I'm not trying to imply any possibility of it ever happening at Woodbine. I just mentioned it for the noise comparison.)

There are big plans for Woodbine. The kind that will make everyone here extremely excited when they become public...

Im not familiar of the orientation of the site, but isnt there a new community soccer stadium and training facility coming up somewhere near woodbine GO? In addition to a few housing projects. Not sure if they will be directly across the noise walls, but is it possible theyre installing them ahead of time?

I wonder how they will organize the GO train and GO bus schedules with this new station on this route ,
example you take GO train at Malton to Union in the afternoon, but you miss your last train , so you take a GO bus at night which makes it's first stop at Malton because its all Gardiner expy /highway 427 and skips Bloor station and Weston station,
will they make the GO bus stop at Woodbine station before stopping at Malton

That soccer stadium project is dead.

They were trying to get some of that sweet World Cup funding and it never materialized.

York United of the CPL were supposed to be the main tenants of that soccer stadium. The team has since changed ownership. Sold to 3 Mexican brothers by the Baldassarra family (Greenpark homes)

Could be ;)
the @ProjectEnd general theory of Toronto development: all else being equal, grand plans will not materialize in the manner to which they were initially described, if they are to materialize at all
Even here, I don't know if what I've seen is possible given current market trends and how much any given developer could get PSF in north-west Etobicoke...
