Same thing over at the M City site—there are patches of ground there with no "ground" in fact, it's straight to rock.

I wonder why - most of the GTA has at least 30ft of soil. Wonder what caused the outcropping of bedrock here.

Not all of it is soft shale. IF I remember correctly, Citygate is built on top of a large granite outcropping. They would of had to blast it if they went underground with the parking.
