It's inappropriate as there could be women walking through there. Women must endure a lot more than some provocative photos in just about any workplace. Few would be offended by some sunshine girls.

It's completely unacceptable in a work place PERIOD. This is something that 12 year old boys think is ok. That some adult men have to be walked through this basic thing is astonishing.... not to mention disturbing.

I’m sure those are there because a couple guys are just overcompensating and insecure with their sexuality and working in the village brings that to the foreground for them.

I'm guessing this isn't serious? Because there's absolutely no way this is serious. If there are women on this job they would also have hard hats and boots so I would edit to add something to indicate it's a joke...and if it's not? Jesus....

Just because they deal with worse, doesn't mean we should be plastering Sunshine Girls on the wall. It's a workplace and therefore completely unacceptable for ANY reason. We don't get to choose the degree of sexual harassment we inflict on women in the workplace.

Calm down. I said it's inappropriate. All I said is women experience much worse and usually from other women; older women. This is nothing. It's not personal like an attack on a person's character over some enduring double standard. I still don't agree with buildup's generation.

If you have a problem with this, why not speak with the site foreman first , as opposed to posting it in here for public consumption - since you don't necessarily have context for what you saw. I agree that you are probably correct in what you are assuming, but you also don't know for sure, and that can sometimes lead to incorrect assumptions, no matter how unlikely the alternative may be.

That's going above and beyond. The context is pretty obvious and the overreaction to it is typical. This is benign. Women know men of all ages look at porn. The underhanded double standard is far more inhibiting and sexist and has little to do with exploitation. As an example, an assertive man is considered to have great leadership qualities while an assertive women is a bitch. Seen it time and time again and seldom does anyone question it. Throw up some provocative photos and it'll go viral.

Your rage is laughable and extremely naïve. This still exists in workplaces across the country...but perhaps not in the enlightened urban or elite environments of our city centres...in fact I was in a plant in northern Alberta a couple of weeks ago speaking to a female stores keeper...the wall above her desk was plastered with pictures of females. Not saying it's right, just that some are too fragile to get past it I guess.

If it's unacceptable, it's unacceptable. Just because women put up with sexism in northern Alberta (or anywhere else, for that matter) doesn't mean we should just ignore it in Toronto.
It's also worth noting this would be gross in a private residence but hey, people can do what they want in their homes. This is a work place. There's is literally no excuse. Even if we want to pretend this is somehow not sexist, objectifying and creating a hostile work environment for women, it's super unprofessional. You wouldn't plaster Sunshine Girls and porn in your office or storefront, why is it somehow acceptable in a construction site? Don't condescend blue collar workers as being incapable of understanding what is and isn't appropriate - they're not children or morons. These guys absolutely know better and are just not being held accountable.

lighten up and try to judge others a little less. This is getting too ridiculous these days. these poor construction workers are doing nothing illegal. if you don't agree with their actions, it's kind of your problem.

No one said anything about illegal. However, this is absolutely unprofessional and absolutely creates a toxic work environment. It's not ridiculous to ask that women should be able to work without seeing porn plastered on the walls. Men too, for that matter. If I was a gay construction worker (especially a guy in the closet, or at least not open about it in such a hyper-masculine environment), I'd find this discomforting. If this wouldn't pass muster in a cubicle or a store, how does it in a construction site?
Again, the people defending this as just reality, men being men, false outrage etc., should be ashamed.
