It's been just over a week since the last photo and PDI has made some decent progress on the demolition. The bridge is now entirely disconnected from DC with the first span entirely removed, the first red support column has also been removed I just don't have a picture of it. Over the last couple of days they have been working on disconnecting the bridge from MC. The bridge connecting to M3 has also had all of its cladding removed over the last couple of days all that is left is the main supporting beams between the support columns, I unfortunately don't have a photo of this.

The PDI crew is also a great group of workers, a couple close friends of mine approached them and asked if they could have some of the demolished bridge which the PDI crew was happy to do for them. Here's a picture of those two pieces that PDI gave them.

The bridge was mostly gone around noon today, on Monday they took down what was left of the M3 bridge with the support columns being removed Wednesday, this morning all that was left was the center span of the MC/DC bridge which should be completely gone by the end of the day tomorrow. They have also built two rooms inside of the DC lobby next to both the Tim Hortons and the DC Library, I have no idea what it is for but it's somehow related to M4 since someone from Gillam was talking with the crews building the rooms.

It's been awhile without some photo updates. These are from Friday evening, during the day Friday they put the crane up from my understanding. I haven't been around to take photos so these photos are courtesy of a friend.

The site has been a hive of activity for the last week at least compared to the winter. The underground area next to DC with the completed shoring in my last photo is currently being formed with various walls and columns already completed. The raft slab at the elevator/stair core on the M3/MC side of the building is completed and has been for a week or two. Along the underground service tunnel between DC and MC they have been working on installing micropiles over the last few days. They have also been excavating the last couple of areas for footings on the MC/M3 portion of the site.

This photo is from the SLC/MC bridge (May 15 2025)

Just over a month later the underground work is now done on the tower crane side of the existing DC wing. They have a very small number of footings near the M3 bridge that still needs to be completed but for now it appears they're putting them off as they still have trucks coming in and out right over that location. On the opposite side of the site they have all the caissons done for the footings but still need to complete the footings themselves before they can backfill. They have backfilled everything near the main entrance of M4, with the first slab on grade completed (the far elevator/stair shaft). On the MC side backfill has been happening for the last few days. They have now started vertical construction with the first floor rebar going up around the elevator core.

The elevator cores are now onto the 5th floor now, the vast majority of the concrete columns around the site are complete, there's a couple left to go by the MC entrance, these are the last to go as PDI had to come back to remove the stairs and then the footings for the old bridge needed to be removed before they could get the micro piles in. Steel should start to fly in a couple of weeks now that concrete work is wrapping up.

The last couple of columns are formed where the lower level of the MC/DC bridge will sit. As for the elevator and stair cores the one closest to Ring Road is topped out with all the forms removed and the core by MC is on it's last level. They've also started to remove cladding from the DC wing where the M4 floors will connect with those areas now covered with plastic.
