Why have the Back Campus fields been covered in a fresh layer of asphalt? Spent a while searching online with no luck.

I don't see any bulletins on that on the facility page:

I saw it last week too. My guess is they are repairing or replacing the turf. It was built in 2015 for the pan-am games, and has been exposed to all seasons for the last 10 years.

Yep, blacktop across the whole thing. From a distance I thought I saw bits of turf pellets on the perimeter but looking closer it is definitely crushed stone. Sent an email.Back campus? The Lacrosse / Field Hockey area between UC and Harbord?
