One and a half beasts including the spandrel heavy top section of the Berczy condos. 😣

Maybe also one and a half or two beauties depending on how much someone likes the St. Lawrence condos though.
Ignoring St Lawrence condos, I'll dub the other three the good, the bad and the ugly. I'm sure you know which is which.

Arguably, every other building surrounding Time and Space is a huge step up, architecturally, aesthetically, and in how they contribute to the character of the neighbourhood. Time and Space feels like a glaring outlier. It’s an eyesore both up close and from afar, with its repetitive, boxy facade and uninspired material palette.

It looks like value-engineering at its worst. Built to maximize profits, not community.

I shake my head every time I have to pass this pile of junk.

I beg to differ.

Me too... I don't find it offensive, or that it makes me want to vomit. It's just a building, and will rapidly get swallowed up, visually, by other large and tall towers nearby when they get built. Whitfield is just one of them. Is it a great building? Certainly not, but neither are most other builds... only a few stand out.

I know many of you questioned my opinion on the state of the interiors and what it's like living here. Sharing some insider information.

I beg to differ.
Great building. Great board. Great amenities. I guess it's offensive to look at for some. But, living there has been awesome... comfortable and quality. Talking from experience as a resident... not just launching insults from the street. Thanks C-mac for rising above the negativity.

If you were to go back through the pages of this thread, I defended it quite often and even stronger. I actually said in many posts I think it's one of the better developments I've seen in a while.👍 The only thing I don't like about it is the name.

I am also an owner/resident. I thought the building looked a little awkward when I purchased in 2017. I was pleasantly surprised with quality of the finishes inside the unit. In terms of amenities..the steam room, pool, multiple large decks with views, badminton court, exercise rooms, and game rooms, the building has plenty (lots of room). I think the building still looks bulky and big, but better than the renderings. Most of all I love….the location! Biking, walking, nice!3DC76C36-84C5-48C7-9848-2DF6ECADB5B3.jpegA2781593-252C-4B23-94B3-288612D381C0.jpeg

The location can't really be beat, especially if you like to be car-free or car-light. The King Streetcar being offline is a downer, but not that hard to deal with in the summer.

Well, one thing we can all agree on is the location is great!

For the sake of the neighbourhood I hope the building eventually solves the numerous issues it’s been having (though nothing can be done about it’s unfortunate massing at this point), and that the number of owner occupied units grows exponentially, as I believe it’s still over 90% renter occupied.

Also finally leasing some (or ANY) of the retail units would be nice! The Whitfield across the street is still under construction and already has confirmed tenants for at least one of the retail units!

Very kind of you to draw our eyes back to the Whitfield - Beauty & the Beast!
