Dont hold your breath folks, this project isnt going ahead any time soon.

Perhaps.

But I have noted that the Green P is under the impression that they are closing their parking lot next year to transfer to the developer.

Absolute statements are premature.

I would also note, commercial rents along this section of Yonge aren't nothing, if the problem is a vacant property, and nothing is pending.......you could just lease it.....

Choice's /Wittiington (really Choice's) leasing entanglements and ways of leasing around this block is...interesting as one way to describe things. It's not your typical landlord/tenant situation per se. Theoretically they could lease, but the oh so secretive "Wittington" is a player here.

Im very confident that Choice isnt developing here anytime soon, even when land is transferred. Golden Mile is the *biggest* priority from the master planned parcels of land they hold in the city. Bloor/Dundas would be under that.

We have a front page story up here, with an early look at the new plan, now designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox Architects. Updated DB file attached at the top of the page!

Looks like KPF's VP of custodial operations designed this ... far preferred the Diamond Schmitt designs from 5 years ago (when they were still trying ;-).

The never of them (Wittington/Choice) not provding UT any new colour renders!

****

I wonder if they bothered telling others they were out or that something had changed.

Capital Developments was to be involved here at one point and still have a project page up, but its for the old DS design.

DS also has a project page up.

KPF do not. (so far as I can tell)

Not getting the direction here. 500 units in 3 towers, a tonne of retail which is really oddly demised.. what is going on here? 4 levels of retail, accessed off an odd corridor and escalator lobby not visible from the street, large format retail spaces broken up by elevator cores..

There we go that's more like Toronto, the previous plan was way too ambitious for this city.

Not that this one is moving ahead with construction anytime remotely soon regardless.
