I love the creativity of this project the diagonal braces looks absolutely like I imagined it would

Carttera has produced a video about the steel struts that hold up the cantilevered section that you might find interesting:

Cool, didn't realize Western Mechanical were on this job. Makes sense, their whole MO is 'weird engineering'. The system depicted in the video above is the part of the one which was used to lift the Davenport Diamond viaduct segments last summer.
