As it really does feel like a big joke. On one hand, if it gets it out of Corktown and distillery then may all the other lots join them.

But the idea we’ve been soooo excited about discovering centuries hidden plants and brought back all the nature and wildlife just to build this… during a “housing crisis”? Ffs. Makes that waterfront Home Depot looks quaint by comparison.

I figure the coffee shop is less a whole thing and more like something they include to keep clientele happy during oil changes. Gonna be awhile before there’s a place the rich can grab a drink while awaiting their midlife crisis mobile to be ready. Though, is the driving range really year round? I could see that working well. If the driving range continues to exist.
If we weren't so far from the first of April, I might be tempted to check my calendar on this one. Of course, you're absolutely right in bringing up the newly reconstructed wetlands. This dealership is the equivalent of a slap in the face with regards our efforts to build a green, pedestrian-friendly and environmentally conscious waterfront...it's almost enough to make one sentimental for the days when there was talk of a 'Ferris Wheel'. Admittedly, neither a sprawling Home Depot nor a three-story car dealership are ideal uses for any downtown urban site, let alone our precious waterfront land, but at least a Home Depot is something that those of us earning less than six figures a year can make good use of.

The way the Porsche dealership is gonna be the first finished building for the Port Lands Project. Smdh

“Hey Tad, it’s Ho Ho, why don’t we bring the chariots in for an oil change, and we can birdie some eagles at the driving range next door while smoking cigars and discussing crypto?”

I am so glad the city and the province and the federal govt all chipped in for flood mitigation and soil remediation to address the most pressing need and civil crisis this city has ever faced. The lightning speed at which they have addressed the affordable Porsche crisis. Bravo.

May the parks and homes we plant today be shade for those in the generations beyond us. But thank god we will have a Porsche dealership once again very soon.

Will the five-ish storey, brick office building (part of the featured renderings) be coming anytime soon, or will it just be a surface parking lot (also featured in the renderings). Which one is it???

Apologies for the frustration, but the misleading “pretty image” thing should be more openly frowned upon in the industry.

Like, if an actual green roof goes in, as shown, I will take back everything I’ve ever said about this project and eat my own shoe — but it’ll be used as car storage.

I mean it's not hard to look at the site plan drawings and figure this out.

The 5-storey office block isn't real, and will be a surface lot, yes.
The Cafe along Cherry St is real.

The roof will be mostly parking, with a small amount of green roof:

The park is going to open in the next year. Where can people going to the park and Cherry beach go for drinks other than a long hike to Leslie and Lakeshore, Queens Quay East, or Cherry St BBQ. I know more than one person that ended up at Cherry St BBQ because it is somewhat of a monopoly in the area currently.

Nice patio with a view of the Keating Channel is an alternative:

I hope the two businesses can hold on until the rest of the area is developed.
