Well............they missed their delayed target...........again............

The latest report from CreateTO suggests this one will go to RFP next month....... if they make it..........it will be one quarter behind their latest, delayed/revised target.......I'm not holding my breath. No one here seems to know what a deadline is.....

Parkdale Hub is too complex on the "everything bagel" community facilities side - (and too small, on the Affordable Housing side) to really be a "Fast-Track" project at this point.

We can debate the relative ranking of projects in the queue.

My concern is that CreateTO picks the target date and then misses its own target.

A target that has lots of padding in it to start with............

Then it sets a new target.........and misses it again.

If the decision is made not to pursue a project right now, so be it.............but don't set a target and miss it.............repeatedly.

Well, they missed their target again, LOL

They are nothing if not predictable.

This time, however, they've gotten really specific w/their new target date.

I thought we have a housing crisis. I must be mistaken.

I think the Now in Housing Now is silent...it's a red herring if you will.
But in a honesty, it's a real shane this has not started sooner, as this area really needs this boost in services.

So remember back in the olden days, when the skies weren't filled with smoke, and I posted the above?

The Market Offering here is going out on Friday; July 18th, 2025. Almost 7 months after it was supposed to......

You've got to wonder, between this and 931 Yonge whether the modus operandi is to slow-walk projects in density hostile neighbourhoods to their death.

AoD

Even in areas that ought to be less hostile........Queen's Wharf (City Place); Scarborough Ctr (which was hostile, but I digress); Islington Stn.... they've been pretty pokey across the board.

@HousingNowTO has noted that many times, the proposals as put forward would never pencil for a private-sector partner, but CreateTO had no budget to offset that, so projects languished.

They've generally taken too long at each stage of the process on various sites, while also managing to get a great many wrong. 1631 Queen East has the novelty of having enraged many locals, while also being under-scaled, and failing to put together a more logical site and massing plan that would deliver a better bang for the buck, all while probably being able to take some of the pressure off (visually lower height fronting Queen) because a larger site on Eastern/Coxwell would allow that.

There are some good people in CreateTO who know what they are doing, and care; but there are too many that are out of their depth, and plodding slow.

...the open air concepts of tent living and such in warmer weather and winter being far off affords the players here to take their sweet time. And presuming this is who they're marketing this thing for. /s
