Why doesn't this structure have a roof, even a temporary one made of something like seasonal sun sails? Sun protection is a big issue for Biidaasige Park. It's a gem in Toronto but the tree cover is immature. While it grows in, we need temporary structural sun protection IMHO.
This is one of the biggest issues I have with this park. I get it's brand new, and will take time to develop natural shade, but it's very difficult to find cover from the elements and sun.
I'm aiming to come here on cloudy or rainy days at this point.

It'll take awhile for sure. Last summer, I took breaks out of the sun under the Commissioner's bridge on my walks. It's nice and quiet there as well. Also, the old firehouse has seating to just go in and hang out, though It's a very small space in there.
 
I remember how quickly the plantings matured at Corktown Common - it'll come quickly enough here as well. Give it like 3 years.
