I don't have stats for your questions, but you're right, every station now being built or expanded must have a mezzanine level between platforms, even though we didn't need them when they made Bloor/Yonge and St. George.

Is this for some sort of fire regulatory or safety reasons? Makes for a longer transfer time which kind of stinks. Also for a recent transfer, I believe the Sheppard line is just a flight of stairs on top of the Yonge line, and that opened in 2002.

Yes, it's much better for pedestrian distribution and flow, and adds significant capacity. Also helps with fires and smoke.

To be honest the Eglinton-Yonge transfer in particular is much more painless than I expected without far horizontal/vertical distances to travel between lines (unlike Cedarvale), although the top of the escalators on the Line 1 platform gets pretty crowded.

I too am wondering the depth. Are they staying deep to stay in bedrock? I noticed near the end of that video what appeared to be Georgian Bat Shale. Didn't think bedrock was that close to the surface at Pape.

The plan for the tunnel along Pape (assuming it hasn't changed since I last saw design drawings) was to remain above the bedrock the entire length. At Pape and Danforth the closest bedrock gets is about 40m below ground surface, the station structure is about 32m below surface, at Cosburn bedrock is even deeper. The closest the Pape tunnel gets to bedrock is near the Gerard portal where the tunnel is only a few meters above the bedrock surface.

Is it just me or is the bridge reconstruction for Dundas and Logan currently going a lot faster than when they were building the GO bridge?

I got that impression too. This 2nd half has been really lagging overall but the girder installation was quick for both bridges this time. For the GO bridge, each bridge took two weekends. The OL bridge was done in one weekend for each street.

Wow you can really see the western side of the bridge that’s being built for the Broadview extension in the 2nd photo but the east side seems of the GO tracks seems like there is no underpass beneath the eastern portion that was built in the last couple years by east harbour… Shouldn’t the eastern side of the GO tracks already been bult/framed as an overpass to allow Broadview to run freely underneath it? I’m so confused lol

I always wondered that too. Was the Broadview extension not approved when construction started here? It's wild that they're going to have to tear up what was built only a couple years ago to make room for Broadview.
