Here is a 10x telephoto shot from Yonge and Queens Quay today:

This is such a popular thread, it's hard to keep photos in chronological order! I took a few, yesterday, September 19, 2024:

After the Mizrahi mess, I also wouldn't be surprised if:
1) Apple's requested their name not touch another single piece of real estate promo (under threat of lawsuit); even after the building is complete.
2) Apple's gotten the property at a lower (perhaps significantly) lease than previously negotiated.
3) Apple's drawn further undisclosed concessions out of property management.
I think this is spot on. Probably even with significant concessions compared to the original deal, Apple wants this place more than anybody else does and is willing to pay for it.

At the very least, with Apple it's not likely to sit empty for months on end waiting for someone with deep pockets to snap up the location. I mean it took how many years for 1 Bloor East next door to finally lease all their retail?

I can’t imagine after all the troubles, that many are lining up to set up a lease at The One without seeing it this thing gets finished first.

Does anyone know what’s with that Apple Store here? Is it cancelled after all or still might be there?

While I like @zang 's reasoning above, it is my understanding that Apple is currently out at 'The One' and not pursuing opening in that space.

I have not heard of any alternate lessee at this point.

Photos taken today, Friday (Sept. 20). The forms on top have moved up a level since my post last Friday, and they are working on level 70/71, which translates to a height of 239/242 metres, equalling or surpassing the height of Commerce Court West, the tallest building in Toronto from 1972 until 1975, when surpassed by First Canadian Place the current title-holder. That now makes it the #7 tallest building in the city (8th if you include the CN Tower). Work on the corners below moving quickly after the hangers were attached between levels 64 and 59 last week, the corner floors for level 60 about to be done. Further down, the Rail Climbing Systems (RCSs) installing the skin have moved up since last week on the east and north side, now installing level 40, which is partly visible on the south face. The west RCS remains at level 39.

After my Flickr "time-lapse" album addition, the views from the south, first from Yonge and Alexander, then showing both the tower higher at top compared to last week, and a closer look above the second mechanical level where some of the skin for level 40 is now installed. Then a sharp angle looking at the crane from close to the SW corner of the tower, looking straight up from the Yonge Street side, then one by Holt Renfrew on Bloor from the NW. The view from Cumberland east of Bay, tight shots of the top and second mega-section, views from the NE at Bloor and Yonge, both wide and then tight of the east and north RCSs clearing level 39 above the 2nd mechanical level, and finally the view from Devonshire to the west and from Hoskin to the SW. [edit- added extra photo Sunday.]
