I'm really not feeling this one. I've tried hard to like it, but so far, the super mirrored glass makes it look too imposing. Sky Tower, although more typical in tone, will look far more elegant in my opinion.

The glass colour in real life versus in the conceptual images reminds me of a coffee table from the late 1980s-early 1990s, but I am hoping that the final product will look good and grow on us. Many iconic buildings were not appreciated when they were first constructed but won favour from the masses eventually - the most cliche example of this is the Eifel Tower

Photos taken today, Friday (Aug. 9). Since my post last Friday, movement at the top, the blue scaffolds up a level as work gets up to level 65 or 66. The crane has been raised another segment, the new brace at level 60 in place, and two lower braces now removed. The corner scaffolds remain at the foot of the third mechanical level, and the black Rail Climbing Systems remain where they were last week installing the skin at level 37, 36 and 36 for the east, north and west ones, respectively.

After my Flickr "time-lapse" album addition, views from the south, on Dundonald east of Yonge, then from Yonge Street around there. More shots of the crane and attachment points, then the view from in front of Holt Renfrew including a view of work at the first mechanical level, from Bloor west of Yonge. Shots from Cumberland, east of Bay, next the view from Bloor at Bedford, where 1 Bloor W almost now obscures 1 Bloor E, and finally from down Devonshire.
