Also, cladding panels have started going up.

Topping out pour happening today.
Still got the mechanical though. I’m curious to see how high it will be. It looks like the equivalent of 2 floors but hopefully it doesn’t look all that bad.

Side note - I absolutely HATE the grey precast brick. I wonder if it was cheaper than red (?) I think the worst spot is on the front facing Main Street, there’s red on one side of a window, and grey on the other. It looks horrible

Yeah, hoping the mech building will only have a small footprint and be set back from the Main Street facade. But if it’s another 2 stories it’ll be even more imposing.

It would be better if the next big development was lined up to continue Main Street’s transition to mid-rise but as far as I know there are no other proposals here, only beside the GO Station.

I agree, both the grey and red pre-cast brick cladding looks cheap. Amico does have actual brick layers working at the Main/Mill corner. My photo captures the green netting better than the brickwork, sorry. I’m a bit more optimistic about this section.

Nothing as of yet for downtown, though the old post office in Mill Street was for sale earlier this year along with the parcel next to it. It was being marketed as a possible new development. Wouldn’t surprise me if Amico took that on as well once they’re done with the Gib and Mill Landing. We’ll find out soon enough I’m sure!

So far it’s looking good. But one weird thing I noticed is there’s a major gap between the brick and the rockwool behind it. What fills in that gap? It looks so weird to see the brick wall with a maybe 6” gap behind it

It's possible that the plan is to stain the gray precast brick sections after they are all up. I would hope that is what is going to happen at least. Staining sinks in, and can have multiple tones applied to build up a more fine-grained look...

...that's all assuming that they intend to have something resembling their renderings at the end of the day.
