We labelled this one as complete, and is is occupied........... however.......some projects tied to this building's approval are still not quite done.

First, we'll look at some road work out front on Main Street. The approval required that the leg of Main Street which becomes Stephenson have its intersection with Main Street (primary) regularized by creating a substantial new sidewalk bump out.

Notwithstanding that sidewalks were newly poured here a few months ago...........

I can't say for sure, but since I see watermains off to the side, I'm assuming this project waited on Toronto Water...........sigh, good job everyone! Why did / pour once, when you can do it twice!

Also, as part of this project, there was supposed to be a new super-mini park, just one house lot wide, at the south-west of the building site; that 'park' can be found here:

There is literally a material sized park less than 1/2 a block away on the same street. I take real issue w/this. I gather this was conceived of as part of a new mid-block connection to Danforth. I'm fine w/the theory, but would note, this isn't mid-block, and I'm also not sure why a mid-block connection should be classed as a park, per se...........

Oh, before we depart this thread............they did finish their planting beds...........but....but.

Really? No, they did no mean for the middle of the bed to be all thistle. Underneath that you can see what I take to be some variation of creeping Juniper......... clearly no one has been weeding, and the Juniper are too under-sized to own the space.

With some unobtrusive fencing, that space could be a nice community vegetable garden.

It could be, but it won't. I mean if they want it for a mid-block connection to Danforth, there really isn't room. Any path would have to be at least 2.1M wide, unencumbered, and they would presumably want it lit as well.

It wold be great to get a set of beauty shots of this building now that it's complete for the purpose of the year end poll. Thanks!

Some last last minute finishing touches? Nothing in the historical house yet, nor any retail tenants. 😒

Not to the building.

As part of the approval here, it was required that the Main/Stephenson/Main intersection be regularized.

ie. The big fat, open, on an angle intersection be narrowed and straightened to improve both pedestrian and driver safety.

That's what you're looking at.

The shape is fine............the design..............sigh.... .

Not a good day for the camera......... and not completely finished anyways.......but the new Main/Stephenson intersection is substantially complete.

ie. The substantially expanded sidewalk zone, and regularized intersection are done.

Still to be complete is landscaping/streetscaping, and hopefully some pole removals.

Landscaping seems to be nothing more than sod - will be interesting to see how badly that fares in just a few weeks time. Disappointing design to say the least.

I imagine there will be trees, but I don't know that. Not a big deal to move some freshly laid sod for 2-3.

But certainly I think sod at the base is highly questionable. It could be an interim condition. TBD.
