Great images! I have been seeing people who are dressed as office workers going in and out of this building so am wondering if EQ has started to move people in? Will be interesting to see where these people gravitate to for lunch and after work drinks in the area.

They have for about a week now, I think. They are aiming to finish vacating their old office around the corner at 351 King St E by May 1.

Here's the east-facing view from their 18th floor reception area today.

Occupancy not looking great for the building but hopefully that’s because it’s still new. Looking back, probably not the best idea to build this here especially with <AAA offices being fairly vacant downtown before even considering places outside the core. https://www.cbre.ca/en/properties/o...wer-25-ontario-street-toronto-ontario-m5a-4l6 CBRE listings have floors 2-11 as available….. https://www.connectcre.ca/stories/eq-bank-opens-new-national-hq-in-toronto/ and this CRE article says EQ Bank takes up 13 floors (12-24 I guess). So the entire building is empty except for EQ Bank, hopefully a tech/media company moves in soon. Anyone have other articles that say otherwise? I.e commitments from other companies on moving into the building

EQ signed the lease here pre-pandemic from what I recall and First Gulf has just taken their sweet time finishing the building up knowing that the leasing market is crap. I think both EQ and First Gulf are happy to have the delays - EQ likely doesn't need 13 floors any more, and First Gulf knows they will struggle with leasing.

Bit more complicated. EQ never had 13 floors here. Currently, their lease is growing one floor from 8 to 9 in the tower and moving up to the top third of the building. They're also gaining a floor in the podium. Conversely, Think Research (4 floors) and Spaces (6 floors) are now out entirely.

Equitable Bank (EQB-T) has moved into its new national headquarters: the new EQ Bank Tower at 25 Ontario St. in the eastern portion of downtown Toronto.

The building was originally marketed as The Shift, but the bank secured naming rights as the anchor tenant of the 24-storey, 476,000-square-foot structure. It occupies 277,988 square feet across 13 floors and at this point is the only tenant.

In addition to its office space, EQ Bank Tower also has approximately 4,000 square feet of available retail space at grade.
