Ah, I see the new shortcut from Kariya to Central Parkway is now open. lol (I don't condone this behaviour, it is Mississauga after all, where cars are king but everyone seems to hate traffic and parked cars though)

Sept 2
I said in the being for the new school that it was too small and wouldn't meet the needs of the new developments that are plan around it in the coming years even though it had room for a small to it. Not only this is school under size, Fairview School on Jones Dr and Corpus Christi Separate School.

I don't when Corpus Christi Separate School had the 6 module classroom added to the school, but Fairview saw a major doubling of the school about 15 years ago that now has 3 outside portables. Elm has 12 outside portables with the 3rd tower for Edge Towers under construction and seeing new owners for it in 2027. Then there was T2 that saw new owners this year.

Still got 3 towers to be built just north of it as well 3 more to the south within 2 blocks of Elm Dr.. It looks like the 46 story phase 1 for 180 Burnhamthorpe is about to happen that will be follow by phase II 71 story Tower. Some are saying The Southlands that is the same as the Exchange District that will have taller towers may get underway in 2028 but more like 2030.

No idea where the Exchange District children going to school for the first tower and the other 2 coming on line in 2026. The 72 story tower will be coming on line late 2027. Then there are the various towers for Parkside Village that saw new owners only a few months ago as well the 2 tower SKAR36

Where are all these school children going to go at these overcrowded school other than been bus out of the area.

i have long call for schools to be built into various towers to reduce the need to bus children out of the area as well use the schools as a community Hub after hours and on the weekend especially for school gyms.

I know TLK is under used as an 9-12 school at this time, but with all the plan development around it over the next 20 years, it will be overcrowded along with a few others around it.

Where are children going to go to school between 2030-40 a lot of parents should be asking as they are planning on moving into the these areas as well other areas of Mississauga?? What are the plans to build more schools??

Do you realize that short cut is the future extension for Kariya to connect with Central Pkwy and is not part of the school property in the first place???

Uh, I think he means driving through school parking lot to get from Kariya to Central Parkway. I have done this a couple times. I'm not sure if it's "illegal" or not, but I wouldn't do it during school hours.

It is illegal to drive through the school area unless you are dropping off or picking up student. The gate is supposed to be close after school hours and on the weekend, but with the sport field there, people can park their car in the school lot. If they relocate that gate to the south driveway, the gate could be lock as originally plan and still allow cars to use the parking area for the sport field.

That parking lot is used by the residents of the 2 Edge Tower as well the 3 Eden towers along with visitors.

The Kariya extension to Central Pkwy was to been built years ago like Webb Dr but the city keep kicking it down the road with no time frame for it at this time.

The kariya extension not happening no yesterday was a major mistake. And elm drive seemingly pops up a portable every month or so. It’s insane. But it’s as if no one wants to send their kids to Fairview. Fairview is really the school for people who live in condos or apartments. Nothing wrong with that but I know people who purposely requested transfers to go to a school which serves more home owners.
