Such projects always look better in person, though that's not saying much. On a day with a lot of sunlight its also not so bad.

Yeah, completely agreed. The street is nicely hugged by some mid-rise density there.

King West is forming a canyon along its entire length. Another reason the DRL is needed.

Yeah, I like the built form, but the actual individual condos from Sudbury to Niagara are so bleah. The only redeeming factor is that there is a range of ages - from the 80s to now - that gives the area more character than if it were all uniformly current (as does the remaining heritage).

I find the built form rather dull and dreary. It's like staring at a stack of cardboard boxes all day--nothing going on other than the same old same old.

All of the newish buildings along King West are failures from a design & urban pov.

From an urban standpoint, the midrises along King generally have a good relationship with the street. In terms of architecture, they all demonstrate some refinement, but there's nothing remarkable. These buildings encapsulate the architectural ideas that have been dominant in the past 10 years: minimal ornament, lots of glass and rows of slab balconies.
