I don’t do Facebook, but to those who were in hysterics about “perfectly healthy” trees being removed from the park, this just happened to a tree they surely would have called perfectly healthy:

Exactly, there ARE going to be tree removals but FAR more are being planted and only diseased trees are being removed.

As we have some pole-obsessed UTers (yes, @nightstreak we are thinking of you!) they (actually 'we') may want to see if the City can get Bell to remove this old wooden telephone pole from David Crombie Park at corner of George South & The Esplanade.

It may bring phone service to the school but there must be underground conduits they could use. I wrote to 'Tonya.Crawford@toronto.ca' who is now managing this Project to ask if she can get it tidied up.

Tonya responded and they will be REMOVING this pole during the projecty.
