Taken 16 January. Wade Street is such a great little hood made more accessible by the opening of the underpass on Patton!

Anybody know if it's been fully leased up yet? Or are these move ins just for individual floors/tenants?

That underpass is great, definitely opens up options for cyclists and pedestrians.

Initially I feared this building would be a bad fit for the 'hood but in retrospect it's a nice contrast and I'm excited about the new life being breathed into this area.

It's interesting to see the big increase in pedestrians there now. In the past, I generally wouldn't see other people when walking on Wade Ave. Now there are always people walking to/from the underpass. I occasionally add it to my commute.

That coffee shop, Propeller, is also a nice draw in immediate area. Spacious interior with a vibe that resonates with the historic industrial infrastructure surrounding it. Good brew, too.

I would not have expected Toronto's first Omakase-style coffee shop — where you have to book in advance, and it costs $60 a pop — to be in this neighbourhood, or in the base of this building, but here we are: https://archive.is/qkBI1#selection-6733.0-6733.72

I thought about going to one of these places in Tokyo but never followed through. Anyway, I say this as a neighbour, but it's a little weird when a business whose entire premise is controlling all the possible variables in a cup of coffee (from the mineral composition of the water to the texture of the cup) opens next door to a gelatin plant that you can smell from several blocks away.... But power to them!

To their credit, I've never actually noticed the smell of the Gelatin plant, but maybe I'm just nose blind to it from living in the area. Regardless, this bizz concept seems like something you'd put on Queen West or Yonge, not Wade Avenue lol
