Ya know, I hate to say I don't like it............ but I don't.

The more northerly buildings seem superficially restored well, but the brick looks (and probably is) painted. it looks too cartoon'ish. Meanwhile, the southern building 'Anson Jones House' did actually have the awkward orientation to Sherbourne (Main entrance on Howard), but, of course, historically there was a meaningful side yard here before the widening of Sherbourne which throws off the context.

^Not my favourite tower for sure, but from that top pic it looks rather striking from that angle.
 
The podium in my opinion tries to tie old with new but falls well short of it. At least the Victorian residential row is stand-a-lone and not the typical almost meaningless facade. The row works well with the brick commercial across the street which in these times in my opinion, is a fairly reasonable compromise for the area.
