I think we need to have @Paclo investigate.

I went to the Building Permit Status page...........and inexplicably found this:

View attachment 651362

No permits? That doesn't seem to make sense.

There's a CD file open here but no sign of the OPA, ZBA or SPA in the AIC.....

Most recent docs on file are for a C of A file - severance related:

The decision was issued last September.

There is a set of open permits here from 2022 that are apparently still open but not visible on CoT's permit map for some reason.

22 227294 BLD is the primary New Build permit still pending and 22 227294 SHO is the contitional/partial shoring permit for the first two towers, issued in May '23.

There are additional permits at various stages of the examination & inspection process, including "Ready for Issuance" that are not officially issued but collectively represent all work permits required for the first two towers (ie. Structural Framing, Plumbing, Mechanical, Drain & Site Service)

There is an open Deferred Fees for Development Charges file from 2023 and more recently in 2024 they re-applied for conditional approval for the initial 2022 foundation permit (22 227294 FND, "Forwarded for Issuance" but not yet issued)

No work violations are publicly visible and no permits have been closed other than 1 Alternate Solution permit for the emergency fire hose connections.

As for planning applications, there are no new applications or variances requested on the site since the Consent to Sever was submitted in June 2024...

Note that the OPA/Rezoning and Site Plan Approval applications all date to 2006 (yes 2006 the year Twitter launched and Pluto was demoted from planetary status...)

The most recent appearances at council were in June '24 for the Public Art Plan and June '23 for the exemption of the site from the Scarborough Centre Secondary Plan.

In short: not sure why work has stopped here and not sure why permits are not visible on CoT's map.

Paclo gets some serious respect for his sleuthing above..............but also.............

It's so rare you get to see him smile........... some quality snark there!

It'll be interesting to see if they start work now that it looks like the site across the street is active

2 months later after my initial post here. Construction has stalled for the Brimley & Progress condos while the adjacent construction site near STC (ALTA) is starting construction. What happened to this development all of the sudden?

Alta is a rental. This is a condo. I suspect the market has given the latter cold feet here... >.<
