The station SPA docs are now filed:

Looks like we never updated this thread w/the current render or even that the station was now going on the east side. I assume that's buried in the main SSE thread.....

Anyways, from the Docs:

There's a few more if you follow the link.

My only key observations; as a non-terminal station, are that public washrooms are provided, as is dedicated bicycled storage.

doesn't look particularly deep, which is nice to see. Pretty rare these days to see a shallow station like that.

Overall clearly a much more simplex construction than the previous, City iteration. Not surprised given that the PCs are leading it.

Ontario Breaks Ground on Scarborough Centre Subway Station

Province marks major milestone in plan to build transit and keep thousands of workers on the job

September 05, 2025
Ministry of Transportation

SCARBOROUGH — The Ontario government is breaking ground on the first of three stations for the Scarborough Subway Extension, marking a significant milestone in the province’s plan to fight gridlock and bring rapid transit to tens of thousands of commuters across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). The construction of the Scarborough Subway Extension is expected to keep 3,000 workers on the job each year and will bring 38,000 people within walking distance of transit once complete.

“The Scarborough Subway Extension will be a gamechanger for the people of Scarborough, making it easier than ever before for commuters to get around quickly and conveniently,” said Prabmeet Sarkaria, Minister of Transportation. “In the face of President Trump’s tariff threats, this project will also support thousands of skilled trades workers and attract new jobs and investment here in Scarborough and around the province.”

Crews have started piling work at Scarborough Centre Station, which will accommodate more than 10,000 passengers and facilitate over 7,000 transfers during rush hour once complete. The station will also include a new bus terminal with passenger pickup and drop-off spaces so riders can easily transfer between local buses and the new subway line.

Scarborough Centre Station will be a major hub for the region, seamlessly connecting the subway with the GO Transit bus network and other local services. By making it easier to connect across the GTA, this new interchange will open up more economic opportunities and shorten travel times for nearly 30,000 students and staff at Centennial College Progress Campus and the University of Toronto Scarborough Campus.

“The Scarborough Subway Extension is an important part of building a more connected region,” said Michael Coteau, Member of Parliament for Scarborough—Woburn, on behalf of the Honourable Gregor Roberston, Minister of Housing and Infrastructure. “The federal government will continue to prioritize investing in key public transit infrastructure that makes it easier for Canadians to access their homes, jobs, schools and communities. I am thrilled to see work get underway on the Scarborough Centre Station and look forward to future progress.”

Ontario is investing nearly $70 billion into transit projects across the GTA. As part of the Transportation Plan for the Greater Golden Horseshoe, the province is delivering the largest transit expansion in Canadian history with the Ontario Line, Scarborough Subway Extension, Eglinton Crosstown West Extension and Yonge North Subway Extension.

Quick Facts

• The Scarborough Subway Extension will extend the TTC’s Line 2 subway service 7.8 kilometres farther into Scarborough, from Kennedy Station to Sheppard Avenue and McCowan Road.

• The extension will accommodate an estimated 105,000 daily trips, reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 10,000 tonnes annually.

• The Province of Ontario has committed to fund one third of the final cost of 55 new Line 2 subway trains for the TTC as part of a single-source contract with Alstom Transport Canada Inc, which will support Canadian workers with good manufacturing jobs.

• In 2021, the Government of Canada committed to contributing over $2.2 billion to the construction of the Scarborough Subway Extension.
