While BikeShare might be the correct term, CityBike can sound nice and cool to say. And it's not really corporate pandering because we don't have Citi Bank in Canada.

Since my last report, we're up another 10 or so Bikeshare stations on a net basis, now sitting at 971. So another 70-90 to go by years' end, hopefully.

A few added in the Don Mills/Eglinton area:

Aga Khan Museum
Don Mills / Rochefort
Don Mills / Gateway (south)
Don Mills /Barber Green Rd

Here, clustered together with some older stations:

To the east of the above, there are now stations at Eglinton/Swift and Eglinton Sloane (Bermondsey)

Additional Stations in the north-west include Finch/Rumike, and Islington/Aviemore:

As as Finch/Westmore, Humber College, and Woodbine Mall:

Finally, three overall shots of how Bikeshare looks across he City so you can see the remaining gaps:

East end:

Remaining key gaps:

Central - West Scarborough and adjacent North York areas, bounded roughly by the 401 in the north, DVP in the west, Warden in the east and Lawrence in the south.

Cedarbrae Area - Markham/Lawrence

North-East Scarborough, north of 401.

Central Map:

Remaining Major Gaps:

Bridlepath/ Hogg's Hollow area

Finch East/parts of Willowdale.

The entire Steeles Corridor

Bathurst Corridor from Wilson to Finch

Sheppard West Corridor Allen to Yonge

Avenue Rd, south of 401

West Map:

Remaining Major Gaps (most of Etobicoke) but particularly.

South-West Etobicoke - Queensway Corridor, Linkages from Bloor to Lakeshore, Bloor west of Kipling

Central: (almost all of it, Holday's Ward) - Burnhamthorpe Corridor, Rathburn Corridor, Eglinton West of the Humber, N-S Corridors including Martin Grove, Kipling and Islington

North-West: Everything from Eglinton up to Rexdale and a bit further north at points.

these better accept the physical cards, I don't want to use the app

I don't see a slot to insert them in the photo though 😥, maybe you'll be able to tap them?
Good question, I'm not sure. It has an option to tap, but I don't know what it supports or what's compatible

My membership just expired, and the card was a great option. Though sometime in the last year unlocking via the app became much better and faster to the point where occasionally I'd just scan the QR code instead.

do we know any upcoming queensway corridor ones? any in the confirmed works?

I've encountered a couple of problems with using the app.
1. The bike is there, locked, shows as part of the available bikes at a station, and is not Red (out of service), but somehow it is not registered as being available in the app.
2. Someone has defaced the QR code or the key-able number (usually just a digit or two; I suspect this is to leave a bike as personally available to them).

Otherwise the app is extremely good now, and (as I've posted before) often recognizes and immediately unlocks the bike when the code is first visible to the camera

I agree the app is good now, but the physical card can't run out of battery leaving you stranded.

Wonder if we’ll start to see e-bike charging docks at certain locations! Also hoping these docks are a bit more durable

Hoping the app will eventually support iOS widgets and Shortcuts so we can instantly launch the QR scanner from our lock screens!

I would also love Live Activities when I have a bike rented so I can see elapsed time and perhaps also an alert if a dock I’m navigating to has become filled and instantly reroute me to the nearest empty dock

The android app I use has been pretty good all summer. Only some small issues activating passes but otherwise good, and like we mentioned before the QR scanning is much improved.

There are already at least 37 e-bike charging stations scattered throughout the city, but more would be welcome.

There needs to be a way to indicate on the bike share app which stations offer e-bike charging, as well as ensure more of the stations have this capability. Would help reduce the amount of down time for them.

So many times I got "this bike doesn't exist" last weekend.

The notification in the app is sometimes delayed but I just see how many mins ago I got the a rental has been started notice, there are so many broken docks I doubt they'd re-route someone as imagine how mad you'd get being told to go somewhere that doesn't work?
