Let me chime in. I get much of my Toronto development news here in UT. I am not on any Meta-owned websites nor am I on X (formerly Twitter), However, I am on Reddit (just under many different usernames) and on Wikipedia under my actual name of Johnny Au, which I am famous for.

Regarding videos, it is best to embed YouTube videos as they are viewable without a Google account.

Edit: clarified

Time to revisit, on October 9th, 2024:

The famous fountain, which for Toronto, is a wonderful Cormier legacy piece.

Here, with the sun hitting it just so, in the late afternoon............a rainbow amidst the spray:

Also..........I noticed Claude's trademark burst of colour in the flower display just to the north-east of the fountain.

It really is amazing at how a redesign (and it is an excellent one) can TOTALLY transform a space. Pre-Claude this was a squalid barren area inhabited mainly by homeless and pigeons. Now it is almost always busy with 'everyone'. It really is a great place.

Entropy of the dogs gives them “character”, no need for Parks to intervene…. /s

Can someone help me settle a bet? When a friend let his dog drink out of the fountain, I let him know that the trough at the bottom is meant for dogs to drink from and that it's from separate plumbing from the water in the basin which is not meant to be. He insisted it's all the same water.

I vaguely recall seeing a plumbing diagram of the fountain here. I'm going through 91 pages and can't seem to find it.

EDIT: Found it! Thanks @AlvinofDiaspar I'm about to enjoy a case of beer.

That's the intent of the design - and if I recall the plans correctly, it uses a separate water circuit from the fountain itself.

It will be - from the project consultation slidedeck (I can't find it online anymore):

You can see that the water from the drinking trough will be drained/recirculated into the fountain for reuse. The water from the dog spouts outside the fountain proper will be potable from the looks of it.
