I'm with you on this one @Lachlan Holmes, I also thought this one would be absolute trash and thought the design was just gimmick work. But the materials used here are solid and that's what made the biggest difference here so good on Menkes for using some quality here.

I'll have to check out the retail space when it opens here because...Menkes retail spaces are usually for the large part completely messed up from an interior flow perspective (and outright sterile when they work with aA).

FWIW, I see what you're getting at..........and I think this is a good design from Giannone Petricone ..........but I think the Hadid effort is a bit better........and also just different enough to make a direct comparison challenging.

So between this and the three buildings that have opened on the west side of Yonge just north of Bloor there are 1,878 new units in the space of a year and it barely registers!
