From the Yonge Street side, it looks like the towers were plunked down with no regard as to how they'd fit in with the base. It looks disjointed.
So you thought this one was dead did ya? Nope.....just quietly evolving while you were all napping.

Similar'ish to before, but new massing and architectural expression. Still Adamson. The biggest massing change is a meaningful setback from the heritage facade which is a welcome improvement from the previous iteration.

Even more true now. Looks like someone dropped a massive patio tile on the old heritage structure

The tower/above-heritage structure is now more pulled back, so you won't see it when walking on the same side of the street; you will from the other side, but it will almost read as separate building. So the massing is a definite improvement.

As to the architectural expression; I think its safe to say that that is a work in progress and not the final iteration.

Though I do still find the box structure odd looking and oversized.

I'm encouraged by the massing and space for the heritage structures to breathe - that corner space at Yonge n Church could be very very popular if its programmed succesfully.
However, I do hope they change the architectural expression (it lopks like they will though, especially since something of this size wont go forward for at least a few years - because...I read these as tombstones LOL. Or yeah, shale rocks stacked upon eachother in a neat row.

Feels like this is giving off that ole GDR Brutalist vibe here...

Three towers on this parcel of land wow! They're probably going to be highrise towers and maybe a low end skyscraper into the mix. Because of some nimbyism that will eventually occur from the neighbours in the Rosedale area lol . But the higher the better if they look classy!

I would love it if it was actual board-pressed concrete but I have a feeling it will be some kind of tile. In any case I like the Brutalist inspiration much more than the typical modernism of these projects.

Not that i liked the previous design but i feel it drew less attention to itself. I'm all for more brutalism in the city but this just looks so uninspired : (

fingers crossed : )
