So..finally, something is punching out of that table top for that area...

Looking forward to the Liberty Village residents going ballistic over this! Not that it really matters, the area is already permanent congested mess.

This will easily be the best looking development in the neighborhood by a country mile.

13 x permanent "affordable rental" units for 99 years out of 520 total units, so it is a 2.5% ratio.

It is a pretty decent deal, considering it is private land.

While I very much dislike NIMBYism, I think I am with the residents there and I agree with what @ProjectEnd said last year, Liberty village is pretty dense already, maybe another part of the city should share the load. The people at Cabbage for example, can be close to unreasonable about what is being built there.

As for the building, I strongly believe that this building should be fully restored and made into a food hall or something of that nature. Liberty Village should really have gone the Atlanta Ponce City direction - better urbanist planning since it is a newer restored community. This building is screaming to be a center piece for the community. In fact, I always think Liberty Village as a whole is screaming for something in that nature as well - something that can further tie the community together.

And let's face it, the place needs more bars / cafe / eateries. As it stands now, it is almost just a suburb in tower form.

Tough for the developer to have this deferred again. Didn't seem like it was for any substantiated reason either.

^Meeting ran out of time?

The deferrals are coming at the request of the developer from what I understand. Maybe @ProjectEnd knows a bit more as to why?

The developer had a settlement from the OLT and decided to withdraw their appeal and go back through council instead. I have never seen a developer do this before and don't understand the rationale behind that decision.
