Downside of this project is the complete hostility to pedestrians at the moment. They've taken the sidewalk on the east side from Vic Park to Denton, forcing pedestrians to switch sides. A real pain.

Its entirely unnecessary as well, they're not using 85% of the space they've taken.

There's also 1/2 a lane still there outside the barrier, but its unprotected next to traffic.

They could easily pull there barriers in just 0.5M and then put jersey barriers to create a new 'temporary' sidewalk.
 
A construction staging report headed to the next meeting of SCC seeks to approve the lane closure that has already been in effect for 2 months on Victoria Park.....

Good to see everyone doing things in the correct order.........

The approval, interestingly, requires that a covered walkway, be established within the closed lane on Victoria Park (which was not done), so that pedestrians can safely walk to/from Victoria Park Station:
