The squatness of this building leaves it feeling very underwhelming.
I think the white cladding plays a role too, it feels cheap with all the gaps, and should have been a nicer, more seamless material in a more neutral grey or warm tone.

That being said, for all the criticism that are leveled against the Avenues Plan and its height planes, I do think they do produce some pretty nice terraces!
 
It is what it is. While yes, bordering on underwhelming...it's still miles and a kilometre above "Design" Haus in the example. So it could of been worse, IMO.

I'm more ok with it than I thought I'd be. The white doesn't fit the context.
 
The large expanses of cast-in-place concrete paving for the pedestrian spaces around the building are an unfortunate step backwards for urban design around new high-density buildings. It looks too sterile and utilitarian. Pavers are now the standard for these kinds of projects.
