I also have no idea what the adjournment means.

I'm guessing here, but the economic climate might not be the best for the developers and they want to wait? I don't know.

That's correct. Sounds like the developer, who seems to watch a lot of Seinfeld, has decided not to proceed with their zoning amendment app or OPA or whatever they needed in this location to try to get substantial density like this. To be honest, probably for the best. 50 stories on this corner would feel silly, imo, though I am sure the views of downtown and the lake would be incredible given the natural elevation.

Maybe they will rename themselves Vandelay Industries and re submit. That would make my day.

There is no indication at this time that the proponent has decided not to proceed with the rezoning. Adjournment just means that specific hearing is suspended, sometimes with or without rescheduling to a later time. In this case there are no hearings scheduled on the calendar yet but the appeal case is still open. The parties may be gathering additional evidence for a further contested hearing or having out-of-court discussions with the goal of settlement

What strikes me as odd, is that if you go back in the record to previous CMC and the previous Merit Hearing date, both were adjourned without explanation, there is nothing on the record.

Typically you get something.........and if you don't, you get it at the next date..........

Not here.

Whatever the intent, it does read as rather Seinfeldian.....as per @UrbanAffair

The process here never ends...................err.............never gets started?

At some point, the OLT should simply dismiss this if the proponent isn't ready to go ahead.

New condo development is essentially dead at the moment. And the situation is not going to change in the near-term, as there is a glut of inventory sitting in the market. I guess the developer may end up withdrawing their application, unless a longer-term deferral is possible.

That's not stopping proposal submissions from occurring, it's the marketing phases that are on hold (and the subsequent construction that follows sales). Buildings that can be financed as rental developments are still proceeding these days...

...but here, @Paclo is right, it's likely that Del Boca Vista, a company that has no other presence on UrbanToronto, is just getting things together slowly. They may be small and poorly funded (and could be aiming to just rezone this site and then try to sell it off to a more experienced developer, which believe me, they'll need to be if they want to work with our transit agencies to integrate their ground floors with them), so just because this is plodding along, don't assume it's dead. (It could resting.)

All that makes complete sense. So you think the key reason is this getting adjourned is because the developer isn't well organised?
