I noticed basically everything in this area is stalled because the province has failed to approve the city's zoning amendment for 3 years now. The OMB appeals keep on getting delayed until the province makes a decision. I've tried contacting the person responsible, but they no longer work there. Would love to know why the province wont' rubber stamp this. https://ero.ontario.ca/notice/019-5872

"At this point in time, the City is still waiting for the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing to issue their decision in relation to OPA 537. We haven’t received any indication on when a decision might be forthcoming from the Ministry, so we are as much in the dark as you are on that front."

Ok, time to summon the wisdom of @ProjectEnd and @innsertnamehere and see if either know what's up.

Been sitting at the MMAH for almost 3 years at this point. Become a bit of a running joke in the planning world as to when the ministry will actually approve Toronto's PMTSA policies..

Oh but "we're very serious about building housing" right Doug Ford?

Let's rush and issue unnecessary MZO's to line up the pockets of developers, but we'll just stall and not approve city building policies? What a clown show.

Joint presser today (2025-08-15) at noon which I've heard is regarding the PMTSAs. Stay tuned!

The problem is that the City's Inclusionary Zoning policies are contained within the PMTSA policies. The province wants to kill Inclusionary zoning as it's actually a terrible policy, especially in the current economic climate in homebuilding, but it's a politically difficult policy to kill.. so... here we are.

Sounds like the province may have finally worked up the muster to do it this afternoon. We'll see.
