Hmmm,... so 2 representatives from Times Group (owner and son/lawyer) called Mayor Olivia Chow to discuss 5800 Yonge (Jan 14, 2025), one week before meeting with the Local Cllr about it,.... weird, not often see lobbyist try to go over the local Cllr - and contact Mayor directly!

Going through the CoA to increase to the heights of the podium elements of the buildings and the daycare building, and to reduce the required vehicular parking rate for residential uses.

Tower heights are now 176.23m, 170.33m, 156.5m, 150.61m and the childcare centre is 11.27m

CoA hearing scheduled for Sep 25.

It might have to do with Developer Times Group leasing out the current 5800 Yonge to City's SSHA/TSSS for Refugee Shelter - but that Lease Agreement is pretty straight forward - Oct 1st to Sept 30th of following year, renewable yearly,.. or it might be because they have no faith in the local City Cllr! As we see in hindsight, the tweaks at Committee Of Adjustment are relatively minor,...

The local rookie City Cllr Lily Cheng, is hopeless,... one of the largest Office Staff in the City - while Cllr is NOT a Chair of any large Committee nor Deputy Mayor,... and her Office Staff is a revolving door!
- At beginning of year, Policy & Planning Advisor Saham A left (she was only staff with prior experience; from Cllr Denzil Minnan-Wong office) - she was the Policy Advisor in charge of Development - both CityPlanning and CommitteeOfAdjustment files under one person! So when she left, both files messed up with no back-up person!!!
- Soon, Constituency Rep MollyB left
- Policy & Constituency Rep KinY left
- Operations Nisha left

So in first 6 months of this year, half of the Cllr full-time Office Staff gone,... this doesn't include all the Office-Staffs that left previously,... Cllr Lily Cheng's Office is a sinking ship!
