A formal consultation was submitted in late August on this address with the following description:
To redevelop the property as a mixed-use retail-residential development containing an 8-storey building. Includes 133 residential units and 1 retail unit. A total of 66 residential parking spaces are proposed.

Assuming they are going through this for land resale purposes, Yeah this is pretty close to where I live and this area has very little amenities.

I actually don't think this is the worst spot for amenities, we've seen proposals in far worse spots. This is a 15 minute bicycle ride and 5 minute drive from downtown Stoney Creek. It's walking distance to a school or two, and walking distance to a few businesses, like city favourite Maria's Tortas. Considering the lack of dense supply in this area, it's not the most unrealistic proposal we've seen in Hamilton.

Perhaps it is a rezoning exercise to sell, but it's not a bad spot.

My only real complaint is how far quality Grocery stores are from us, and having to drive down highway 8 towards Fortino's to get to most places. I would rather drive to Costco/Metro in Winona then go down Highway 8 to Fortino''s or Nardini's.
