There has already been a fair bit of investment around the International Village between Vranich's tower and the two midrise blocks north of King St.

Given that it's LiUNA behind this and they have stated that it's going to be a rental build, I suspect that this represents actual construction start and not just demolition.

They have their affordable housing development a block south of here as well which will likely be starting soon too.

From a quadrant perspective where Main/King and James is the centre, I would gather the least amount of investment has been seen over the last 30+ years. Regardless great to see this and the ones you noted coming soon. Now if DiCenzo started their two towers on Jackson, that would be something!

probably a false recreation by the looks of it, yes. The whole thing was gone when I went by this morning.

I'm hopeful we'll see shoring rigs here soon and not just demolition.. we'll see.

LiUNA did something similar with 75 James as well, cleaning up the site quite nicely post-demolition before bringing in the shoring rigs, so I suspect that is the case here..

They have put up pretty serious hoarding along James Street and the old Teachers Credit Union building has been torn down... now we just wait for the shoring machines to arrive. Here is the site as it was this evening:

Also, this proposal has been redesigned. I have seen a render, but am waiting to receive the updated submission documents from the City. I'll post when I have news on that front.

I think Fengate is doing this project without LiUNA. Does anyone know for certain?
