Update: While the Wine Rack has finally moved out...but all retail space along here is now advertised for lease.

...subsequently, it will also likely be a long while and a dog's age before anything is built here. And for what that is worth.
Go ahead. Pretend to be interested in renting space on that block.
Ask them for a 5 year lease and see what they say.
I bet they're only issuing yearly, or 3 year leases with a demolition clause...one that means they DO NOT have to pay you to relocate if they choose to demolish the plaza before the lease is up,
and you will get very little notice of such action. (maybe 3 months, if lucky)

The other weird development that's going on here, along with the now dormant...

...is that it appears the TTC is moving ahead with their reconstruction business of the Spadina Station here. I think @Northern Light-san once suggested this infrastructure project was working with the respective resident developers for the convenience of all parties involved to move forward with this. It now appears they are done waiting for said developers to pull their fingers out and going on ahead with what they need to do...

...unfortunately in doing so, they have claimed the south part of Paul Martel Park for themselves, boarded it off, removed the mature trees that was there and roaded it all over to get access to the back wall of the respective station. There should be a special place in hell for those involved that shirked the permits to get this done, IMO. /bleah
