There's a Heritage Preservation report on the applicable properties within this proposal heading to next week's Planning and Housing Ctte.

This got me to wondering if there had been updated Docs and indeed there have.

So I will summon @Paclo to investigate the details.

I must admit, people who don't proof read confuse me.... LOL From the Project Data Sheet:

  • Still 60 & 56 storeys (heights of both towers slightly increased to 204.55 & 194.55m)
  • Total units up from 1362 to 1419
  • Total rental replacement units down from 33 to 32 (more info about this in the housing issues report)
  • Addition of a new 214.93 m2 POPS at the south of the site fronting Isabella

The glass at the base is the typical Toronto response to the presence of brick heritage buildings. That’s an unsophisticated and unattractive solution. And here it wrecks the tower architecture; glazing at grade and masonry above feels precarious.

Agree; but let me add, its ugly and it makes no sense contextually in terms of relating to the heritage.

It need not be pastiche, but it ought make some effort to 'fit'
