Yeah, the "Hospital Flight Path MZO" has been a problem all over downtown core on various sites.

Its a legitimately important thing to protect that flight path; though unfortunate that the appropriate protection wasn't in place earlier, so less time/money was wasted on what wasn't feasible.

But I'm irritated that this project (and perhaps others) have not returned for a public conversation about how to address this.

Instead...the thing just sits in limbo as if there were no housing crisis.

I've had a look at the flight path here. I don't have precise elevations but cursory observation suggests something like the top 8 floors + MPH are within the protected space. Cut me some slack here, I'm eyeballing.

Given that the MPH can't go away, its looking like maybe an ~11s haircut, but that would still leave the issue of the crane encroaching during construction. There are ways to mitigate that, of course....

From the latest CreateTO tracking report.....

Would you look at that closing:

So .....groundbreaking, maybe, in 2028? Occupancy 2031......if you're lucky.

Pfft, what Housing crisis?

If we get pile drivers in the ground before the end of this decade it'll be a celebration of success at this point.
