Who owns the Moss Park apartment buildings (the ones between Sherbourne and Parliament?

Toronto Community Housing.

Huge site, can't belive there hasn't been intensification proposals yet.

There will be, at some point, but there's only room for 1 new tower there right now, if you leave the existing buildings and open space where they are currently.

Comprehensive redevelopment (taking the existing buildings down and re-site/mass everything will be controversial (but desirable); and very expensive, that's hundreds upon hundreds of families to relocate and to justify the cost you need to go much denser.. Even then it would be hard to make it work if you didn't take down the private buildings on Queen.

Here's the kicker, the site is under the flight path for the St. Mike's helicopter. They can certainly go taller than what's there.......but it is somewhat limited.

I think it looks better than most condos recently built. That's not saying much however it ain't horrible.

I'm all for a very healthy degree of social housing provision, but by which legal mechanism are you proposing to compel private builders to pull permits?
