They already restored the exteriors. It looks great. We don’t need yet another bait and switch in a neighbourhood that has undergone huge changes in the last decade, taking on way more growth than our share, even for the downtown core.

The proposed tower overwhelms the last buildings or their type in the area.
 
Well, no, it clearly hasn't seen any real restoration for some time. That cornice is straight up falling apart.

The setback is large enough for it to not overwhelm them, and even seems to keep the original depth and roofline. Also this is downtown Toronto, there will be towers, just like there are 60 storey buildings next to three storey brownstones on Manhattan. I welcome the density and new housing.
 
I guess you don’t live anywhere around me then, where we’ve absorbed incredible growth without any improvement to local amenities to show for it. Not opposed to new housing even in my area, but I think I’m entitled to feel pissed off about this.
