Previously two separate proposals at 208 Bloor St W & 210 Bloor St W, Resident & Tribute have consolidated the proposal into a single 36-storey tower with 426 student rental apartments & retail. Details on the front page:

finally. I was always surprised Resident and Tribute couldn't work something out here to do a combined application. This makes a lot more sense than those two ridiculous skinny things they were proposing before.
This thing is risible garbage and two different proposals would absolutely have been better in the long term.

I don't care for the partial-width setback halfway up the tower. Either do a full-width setback or don't do one at all. Why so many of the architects in this city think asymmetry automatically equals good design baffles me, especially on something as geometric as this, where symmetry would actually look better.

I mean a shift from ultra luxury to student housing will do that..

Those two proposals were never really realistic anyway.
I think without lenders' 70% requirement one of the two could have gone ahead - heck, Museum House is probably 15 years old now. But both of these, as positioned? Nah.

That said, I'd rather wait for something good than have this absolute guttertrash go up. Ugh.
