...I'm going to propose to Mr. @interchange42 that anyone bumping dormant threads on this site with no new information or news has to buy each reader lunch and a coffee at their chosen establishments. >.<

At just over 47,000 members.........even if most were happy with a Swiss Chalet .....that's a 1 million dollar + bumping fine!

For my part I haven't had lunch at Jacobs & Co. in a while.....

Just buy me a latte and I'm good.
I would accept a dozen bagels from Gryfe's.

These are all excellent ideas, although the "whenz this gunna get bilt?" posters just are not realistically going to be able to buy lunch or a pint for all 47,000 UT members, even if each of you deserve it for having to see those posts.

I'd suggest members who post "whutz happnin heaaar?" have to include "Hit me up for a night at Alo or Sushi on Bloor, your choice" along with their phone number, which they can edit out of their post after they've arranged six UT member dates. Plus the offended member gets to bring a chaperone, me, for safety and "breaking awkward silence" purposes, you have no idea how many lines I have.

Anyway, for those wondering when this building is going ahead...

...if a 99-storey building were about to go ahead, someone would have said something, there would already be a post in the thread saying "some guy I don't know just told me that a [editor's note: virtually unfinanceable] supertall building is about to go under construction here" and then two other members would have posted "cool" and three other members would have posted "yeah, uh-huh, sure." Failing that, nothing is happening.

So why is nothing happening? It's not happening because you don't put up a 99-storey condo before you sell around 80% of the suites, and you don't put suites on sale in the first place in a market where no-one's buying, as the money spent on marketing a building would lose you even more capital.

Very few projects are coming to market at the moment, while buildings that are starting construction now were either sold a couple of years ago before the market tanked, or have been financed as rental buildings. 99-storey condos just aren't breaking ground right now.

You should honestly look into the use of AI (or even a simple word parser) to filter these posts out :) - just block them (not ban) from submitting such a post.

How about some KFC instead @Northern Light 😜

I'm not opposed...........though I would have to BYOV

Bring your own vinegar. Without vinegar, you can't make the gravy edible, and without edible gravy, the fries are awful.

Sometimes I don't mind it when somebody bumps a thread, because it allows me to do this:
