Well, at least we may get one good thing out of this one.........

Coming to the next meeting of TEYCC is a proposal to expand the boulevard into the curb lane of EB King street here. This will create additional pedestrian space and improved streetscape. It will remove ~ 2 parking spots.

Good idea but why not do the whole block (i.e. include the TTC platform and eliminate the short space between the TTC platform and the new extended curb. The blue below:

I also heard that the TTC were planning raised platforms along King and these changes should surely be done in a coordinated way. (Oh yes. The damned silos!!)

I agree this should be coordinated with a new/improved streetcar platform.

In terms of the space between the platform and this piece of work, the intent is specifically to have a loading zone. Those are necessary, and that seems reasonable.

OLT Final Order issuance remains pending, a technical resubmission has been made addressing pre-requisites as well as comments from Engineering and Construction Services

(updated site servicing to accommodate the expanded boulevard, subsurface utility investigations, revised tree replanting strategy, revised conservation plan, and Heritage Easement Agreement is currently being prepared)
