Adding siding to the front and that whole side was an unfortunate choice. Really uglies it up. The scale may be wrong, but it wouldn't look as bad if it were all brick.
At this point, at least paint the siding a dark color so it doesn't stand out like s sore thumb.
 
At this point too many new buildings seem devoid of proper standards - uneven designs, windows that are not harmonious - it's like not doing a good enough job design wise is now trying to be passed as a chic design choice.

I find the jut-out the most jarring - there is no symmetry to this building, or many new buildings.
 
Honestly this looks fine. Its not an architectural masterpiece but it looks more than fine and it adds 6 units to a centralized area. Hamilton needs to work on it's heritage protection but the answer to that isn't just preventing all old buildings from going, as that just results in a lot of dilapidated old buildings falling down.
