Neither of the chains are Canadian now. With Starbucks supporting genocide.
Ideally we get a local small Canadian owned coffee shop but it’s unlikely they can afford the rent.
Hence the comment on the tenant.

I fugire he's talking about the Israeli occupation. I'm not a huge fan of Starbucks either, but a cafe in a great location like this is good for the neighbourhood, and is a world better than a nail salon or marijuana shop.
Given its a new building, I'm unsurprised entirely a small business hasn't set up here, especially given the current market.

Yes they sued their own Starbucks employees union for posting Free Palestine on twitter and got boycotted and shares took a huge nose dive that never recovered. Anyways it is a US brand.

I haven’t set foot in a Starbucks since the 2010s. If there’s a time to support Canadian businesses it is now. Jimmy’s coffee is literally 30 seconds walk away on Portland is an owned by a local Ontario entrepreneur.

Getting back to the building, it turned out much brighter than expected from the previous photos where the cladding looks grey

Forget Me Not Coffee is just across the street and Jimmy's Coffee is a 30 second walk away... there is also already a Starbucks inside Loblaws at Queen and Portland

We need a Joe & the Juice. The youngins in this area will gulp it up instantly. Someone needs to let those Danes know they should expand here.
